I also am doing a bunch of Windows updates to see if that helps as well. Haven't checked Zune Boards yet which is a place I should have started before Google. Tried other firmware updates on the Zune Software and it seems like there is some sort of disconnect with Windows and the Zune software so the driver is being stubborn as hell. I have looked online and manually downloaded Zune HD Drivers to try and those didn't take either. Manually attempted to install them from the "Driver" folder inside "Zune" in Program Files and THAT didn't work. I uninstalled the drivers and uninstalled Zune, then restarted and reinstalled Zune and plugged in my Zune HD after and still didn't work. Uninstalled the drivers and tried to let Windows Update install them and it didn't work. Mostly everything I find is just trying to get the Zune Software working on Windows 10. I have checked the main sticky on this subreddit, Google, Youtube, and spent probably too much time trying to troubleshoot this myself. Both the VM and Zune HD have been restarted. Really everything EXCEPT Windows fails to install the Zune HD Driver. Here is what I have so far: VM W/ Win7 Pro, I installed Zune 4.8, firmware files, Visual C# 2008, XNA 3.1, and the XNA 3.1 Zune patch. I feel bad for even asking because this seems like such small issue and probably easy fix. I am working on installing all the extra apps and games installed on my Zune HD. Win 7 Pro VM won't install Zune HD drivers despite my many attempts.
